Vote on April 14th to Elect Rich to Select Board

Do you read the local news and find yourself shaking your head at the direction of our town government. Do you feel our Select Board is Listening to you, represents your priorites and values? Does it seem like our town can't trust Select Board to listen and has to use petitions, referendums, yard signs, etc. to get the attention of Town Government?
I'm running for the Needham Select Board to offer Needham a meaningful choice, a chance to ensure that every resident of Needham feels their voice is heard by our town's Select Board. Like many of us, I've been frustrated watching town politics over the past several years. Important issues such as Envision, the MBTA Communities Act, Large House Study, Steven Palmer, the Pollard School project, and train horn concerns have sparked significant discussion across our town. Many of you have told me that you feel that community priorities and Select Board decisions were not aligned, that their interests seemed to take priority over our priorities and interests.
You deserve a Select Board that listens carefully to our citizen's concerns, communicates clearly with residents, and most importantly reflects the values of Needham as a whole. If you vote on April 14 and elect me to the Needham Select Board, I promise that I will work tirelessly and collaboratively to move our town forward in a way that brings people together and rebuilds trust in our Select Board.
Throughout my 37+ year career, I have a track record of collaborating on teams and boards to achieve meaningful change. I've done this as an Executive at companies like Boston Scientific, as well as on corporate and charitable boards like GHX and the American Heart Association of Boston. In these roles, I have learned the value of hearing differing perspectives and working together to create better outcomes that also represent our shared objectives and values. Like you, I believe our town government should represent all of us. Select Board decisions should not come as a surprise headline, or require the meeting drama or referendums to ensure the voice of the community is heard. Our businesses should be partners with our Town, and not feel the need to post Not Our Vision signs to plead with the town to avoid damaging the great downtown we already have.
If elected, I will work hard every day to ensure that your voice is heard on Select Board - and that our town's actions align with the values and priorities of the people who call Needham home. I will work to rebuild the trust our town's residents and businesses have in our Select Board. And I will work to repair the relationships within Select Board and ensure Committees are made up of a cross section of our town.
I've led organizations that are larger than Needham's Town Government (Boston Scientific's IT team numbered over 4,000 and National Grid's well over 12,000), and I have built, rightsized, and managed budgets larger than our town budget, and this experience also extended to boards where I was Chairman of the Boston American Heart Association overseeing our work across the community. I have a proven track record of working with teams who sometimes are stuck in a storming stage and working to rebuild trust, relationships and define clear mission so that are high performing. These experiences position me well to bring your voice to Select Board. My professional experience includes...
- Currently: CEO of Esito LLC, a Technology and Cybersecurity Advisory for Private Equity
- Currently: Member of Needham Technology Advisory Board
- Currently: Member of Needham Community Revitalization Trust Fund Board
- Currently: Member of the John McLean Society
- Currently: Member of the McLean Hospital National Council
